Description

A massive locomotive that is only two inches shorter than the ever famous bigboy the Janus series GS-8 semi streamlined simple articulated was built by Baldwin for the Western pacific in 1950 to deal with the shear amount of tonnage needed to be hauled after the Company relieved itself of the USRA series engines the government had built for them. Essentially the engine was based upon the GS-6 series engines built and based upon the southern pacific GS-6 locomotives built in the middle of the 1940s but much larger. Used for only a short ten years she was finally sent to the scrappers line at the beginning of 1960 to await her fate.

My own design for an engine, that I only now finally had the gumption to finish. I hope you all like her as I do

The GS-8's already exist. They were former Cotton Belt L-1 4-8-4s
